Young people wanted for Youth Week committee
Maitland City Council is calling for people aged 12 to 25 to nominate for next year’s Youth Week Grant Program committee.
The committee is responsible for assessing applications and allocating funding to successful grant recipients under the Council-governed Maitland Youth Week Grant Program. The program provides funding to local groups and service providers to organise Youth Week celebrations across Maitland from April 10 to 18.
Up to seven representatives will be appointed, with support provided by Council and the Maitland/Dungog Youth Development Officer.
“Being involved in the committee provides young people with great experience and skill-building opportunities in leadership and governance,” Council’s acting Community and Recreation manager Emily Livens said.
“Being a member on the committee also gives young people an insight into the processes and requirements when applying for grant funding to hold events.”
Nominations close on Monday, December 10. Anyone who lives, works or studies in the Maitland area can apply. To apply visit maitland.nsw.gov.au.
