Three charged after Cessnock gaol operation
Three people will be attending court after a joint police and Corrective Services operation at Cessnock Correctional Complex on Saturday.
The operation targeted visitors to the centre and three offences were detected.
Charges have been laid against a 34-year-old man for possession of two grams of methamphetamine and a 28-year-old man for attempting to take tobacco into the facility. Another visitor was detected driving on a suspended license.
Court dates are yet to be set.
A small quantity of cannabis was also found during the operation, however no charges are expected due to insufficient evidence of possession.
Further operations at the centre are expected.
