Signed memorabilia under auction for MRAG
For the second time, a collection of signed celebrity memorabilia is going under the hammer with all proceeds being donated to the Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG).
The Classic Corrigan Collection of signed memorabilia contains almost 100 signed photographs of stars such as Paul McCartney, Madonna and Mick Jagger, as well as special album covers and sheet music which has been signed by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand.
The collection has been amassed by MRAG patron Pat Corrigan OAM over 40 years and is the largest known of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
A similar auction was held in June and sold for more than $30,000.
“Pat is a long friend of Maitland and the Gallery; his entrepreneurial spirit knows no bounds and this is an example of converting 40 years of collecting into an opportunity for Maitland to last generations,” Gallery Director Brigette Uren said.
“All proceeds will be directed towards the long-term conservation of MRAG’s $9 million art collection.”
The online-only auction, conducted by Lawsons Auctions, closes at 1pm on Thursday, November 1. To view the auction visit lawsons.com.au.
