Postponed outdoor cinema rescheduled to February
Maitland City Council will host an outdoor cinema in Morpeth Common next month, after postponing the event in December.
Christmas at the Common had been slated to go ahead on December 14, but was cancelled when poor weather was forecast.
Home Alone, The Muppet Christmas Carol and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation were due to be screened in three outdoor cinemas.
The free event has been rescheduled to Friday, February 8 and will now be held as Comedy Flicks at the Common, where Dennis the Menace, The Muppet Movie, and National Lampoon’s Vacation will be shown.
The evening will kick off at 7pm with food trucks, a popcorn cart and roving performances from ‘BUG’, a Council Creative Streets grant recipient.
The evening is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic rug or chair, and something warm.
The movies will begin at 8pm.
