Pennie Kearney successor named
Former CEO of Community Living Australia Lynne Graham has been appointed as the new CEO of The Mai-Wel Group.
Ms Graham will step into the role being vacated by Pennie Kearney at the end of the year. Ms Kearney announced her resignation in August, after 18 years with the organisation.
Ms Graham has worked in the Community Services for over 20 years, including 10 years in senior executive management roles. She has previously worked for Samaritans, and is currently the General Manager for aged care service Tallwoods Corner.
“Lynne comes to us with highly developed communication skills and is comfortable working across the broad spectrum of stakeholders including our participants, employees, the executive team and the Board, as well as funding and business partners,” Mai-Wel Chairman Graham Burns said.
“She is passionate about quality service provision and ensuring that services provided are person-centred and meet the needs of an individual, and this commitment aligns to the Mai-Wel focus on quality participant care.”
In announcing Ms Graham’s appointment, Mr Burns paid tribute to Ms Kearney.
“Pennie’s 18 years as CEO of Mai-Wel have seen the biggest changes in our history, all firmly stamped with Pennie’s drive, passion and compassionate approach to sometimes difficult circumstances,” he said.
“She is a notable personality in Maitland, but also in the disability services sector, known for her dedication and contribution to the bigger issues facing participants and organisations alike.”
