Mai-Wel gets Live and Loud in 2019
Off the back of great success in 2018, Mai-Wel’s music program participants will be showcasing their skills across Maitland and Cessnock all year long.
The Live and Loud performance series kicked off last year and develops the musical abilities of Mai-Wel’s participants in a socially inclusive environment.
“In 2018 we held our first Live and Loud in Cessnock which was a great success,” Mai-Wel’s Creative Arts Facilitator Steve Burchill said.
“It’s nice to see our hard-working participants have the opportunity to play live and show off their talents [to] audiences in Maitland and Cessnock.”
Six shows have been locked in for 2019, with the first on Wednesday February 13 at Hotel Cessnock.
The performers will be celebrating women in music ahead of International Women’s Day in March. The free night of entertainment will begin at 6:15pm.
Live and Loud events will also be held at Hotel Cessnock in June and October, while Mai-Wel has received a Maitland City Council grant to deliver another three events in Maitland in April, August and December.
