Local music legend sees out year with Levee performance
Maitland’s Dave Wells will wrap a big year in music by playing at the final Live at The Levee for 2018.
He released his debut album in August and followed that with a tour around the country before returning home for a well-deserved break.
“After a huge and hectic year I’m really looking forward to coming home, celebrating and playing my last show of the tour, right here in the heart of Maitland,” he said.
“It will be a surreal experience, but I couldn’t think of a better way to see the year out, by singing some tunes across the great Hunter River, to an audience consisting of the most gracious and loyal supporters I have.”
The regular Live at The Levee event kicked off in the middle of year and brings local talent to the space, with The Dew Cats and Carl the Bartender already locked in for next year.
Maitland City Council’s Place Activation Officer Charlotte Hilder said it was always a great night out.
“We’ve had a few Live at The Levee events already and with an incredibly talented Maitland local performing in Dave Wells, I’ve no doubt it’s going to be one of our best yet,” she said.
Newcastle’s Georgie Jones will also be playing. The free music kicks off at 5:30pm on Friday, December 21 at the Bourke Street Link. The event is held on the third Friday of each month.
