GIVEAWAY: Repertory presents Tony award winning play
Following a fight between their offspring, two sets of parents discover who the children really are in Maitland Repertory Theatre’s upcoming production of Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage.
Directed by Matthew Collins, the Tony award winning play sees the parents (played by Alastair Anderberg, Millie Chorlton, Alex Simpson and Leilani Boughton) meet after one child uses a stick to knock out the two front teeth of another in a playground incident.
The parents initially agree to a civil discussion but as the night wears on the couples begin to fight against each other and between themselves as the talk descends into loaded topics such as racism and homophobia.
God of Carnage premiered in France in 2006 and was translated into English to debut on London’s West End in 2008 and Broadway in 2009. The London production received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy, while the Broadway production received the Tony Award for Best Play.
The production plays on Friday and Saturday evenings for two weeks from March 22, with a matinee on March 24. It runs for 1 hour and 20 minutes without an interval.
Hunter Independent has a double pass to give away to God of Carnage. To enter email firstname.lastname@example.org and include your contact details and which performance you would to attend. Entries close at 5pm on Monday, March 18. Only the winner will be notified.
