Council moves on Maitland parking study
The long-awaited study into Maitland CBD car parking is now underway.
Maitland City Council has engaged GTA Consultants to conduct the study, which will look at the current parking situation and review the existing Central Maitland parking strategy.
The issue has been on the table for roughly 18 months after Council resolved in June 2017 to conduct a CBD parking review following the completion of the Stockland Green Hills and The Levee redevelopments.
As one of the first phases of the study, community feedback is being sought about perceptions and priorities around CBD parking.
“Whether you live in Central Maitland, work in Central Maitland, or you’re a customer or visitor to the area, we want to hear from you during this engagement phase of the project,” Council’s Engineering and Design manager Kevin Stein said.
“We are also especially interested in hearing from business owners and managers and will be targeting them directly during the engagement.”
An online survey is available to complete at maitlandyoursay.com.au which closes on Monday, February 18. Two engagement pop-ups will be held on Tuesday, February 19 at Pender Place Shopping Centre from 10am to 12pm and in the grounds of Maitland City Library from 1pm to 3pm.
